CMA Race Director, Rowyn James has thanked SAPS, eThekwini Metro, Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) and Msunduzi Traffic Services for ensuring the safe passage of Comrades runners, supporters and volunteers on race day.

More than 550 law enforcement personnel were deployed on the day, adding to the overall safety and security measures implemented by the CMA.

James has also conveyed his gratitude to staff at the two Netcare referral hospitals, St Augustine’s in Durban and St Anne’s in Pietermaritzburg, who ensured that all runners received the necessary care and treatment.
