INTERNATIONAL RUNNERS BUS TOUR OF THE RACE ROUTE

 

 

 

 

Would you like a preview of what awaits you on Race Day?

 

You would? Then why not join us on the International Bus Tour of the Comrades Marathon Race Route, which is hosted by teams of experienced former Comrades Runners.

 

The Tour takes place on Friday, 2nd and Saturday, 3rd June 2017.

 

There will be two Tours on the Friday (departing at 07H30 and 08H45) and one Tour on Saturday (departing at 07H30). You must indicate your preference on your Race Entry Form. The Tour is aimed specifically at the Comrades Marathon Novice, but runners from past years, who are seeking a refresher trip, are also welcome. Participants are entitled to be accompanied by a maximum of two guests.

 

Each of the three Tours will be limited to 150 persons.

 

On the Friday Tour, there will be a German translator (on the Tour departing at 07H30) and a Japanese translator (on the Tour departing at 08H45). On the Saturday Tour, there will be a Portuguese translator. 

 

Light refreshments will be served during the Tour.

 

The cost of the Tour is ZAR400 per person and must be paid as shown on the Entry Form.

 

Boarding of busses commences at 07H00 (for 07H30 departure) and 08H15 (for 08H45 departure).

 

The busses will depart from outside the Comrades Expo in Durban at 07H30 and 08H45 sharp and follow the Race Route to the Comrades Marathon House and Museum in Pietermaritzburg, stopping, at the Comrades Marathon Wall of Honour (in the Valley of a Thousand Hills) and the Ethembeni School where you will be entertained with a routine of traditional Zulu dancing and singing. The busses will return to the departure point in Durban.

 

The duration of the Tour is approximately 6 hours 15 minutes.
