Renowned heritage brand, Shield came on board as a partner to the Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge. In celebrating the Comrades Centenary and as part of the #ComradesCententaryHopeChallenge race packs, South African entrants will receive complementary Shield deodorants in their race packs.

Shield’s deodorant and anti-perspirant products are intelligently designed to work as hard as the participants – because “it won’t let you down”.

CMA General Manager, Keletso Totlhanyo confirmed the partnership, saying, “It is with absolute pleasure that we welcomed a global brand as a partner to the Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge. The Shield brand has been previously associated with the Comrades Marathon and we were keen to renew the partnership.”

Under the agreement, Shield has positioned itself as the official deodorant partner to the Comrades virtual event and supplied product to every South African entrant.

“As South Africa’s number one selling deodorant and antiperspirant brand, we were excited to partner with Africa’s number one ultramarathon. Shield wants to empower millions with the confidence to move. Movement has the power to transform lives. It helps us break limits we put on ourselves and those put on us by others. Movement brings people together, unites communities and stimulates positive social change. Over the years Shield has worked to ensure that we cater to our consumers even in the most extraordinary times”, shared Zola Ngwenya, Senior Brand Manager for Shield.

Also included in the race pack, will be the finishers medal and Mr Price Sport race t-shirt, if applicable, as well as other branded memorabilia, if ordered.
