1.1. National Athletes as contemplated by Rules 6.1.3, 6.1.4 and 6.1.5 of the 2024 ASA Rules & Regulations, save that the relevant time period shall be 3 years;
Or
1.2. Elite Athletes as contemplated by Rules 7.2.1 (save that the relevant time period shall be 3 years), 7.2.2, 7.2.3 and 7.2.4 of the 2024 ASA Rules & Regulations;
Or
1.3. International (i.e. foreign / non-South African) athletes who have won an individual gold medal (Top 10) at the Comrades Marathon in the past 3 years.
2. Notwithstanding paragraph 1 above, all participants in the 2024 Comrades Marathon will be required to submit a qualifying time achieved between 1 September 2023 and 6 May 2024.
3. In accordance with Rule 7.2.5 of the 2024 ASA Rules & Regulations, the following time standards will be applied to athletes who do not fall within one of the categories identified in paragraph 3 above.
