DISCOVER THE RICH HERITAGE OF THE ULTIMATE HUMAN RACE AT THE COMRADES MARATHON MUSEUM

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is delighted to invite the public to explore the Comrades Marathon Museum, a treasure trove of history dedicated to the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon. Located in the heart of Pietermaritzburg, the museum offers an immersive experience that celebrates the spirit, stories, and milestones of The Ultimate Human Race.

Visitors will be exposed to a range of exhibit highlights, including historic artefacts and interactive displays. From original race medals and trophies to vintage running gear, visitors can delve into the rich history of the Comrades Marathon.

The museum also celebrates the legendary runners who have made their mark on the Comrades Marathon, including winners, record holders, and Green Number greats.

School excursions are also welcome whereby learners can engage with multimedia exhibits that showcase the evolution of the race, iconic moments, and personal stories of determination and triumph.

The museum not only honours the past but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of runners. It is a place where passion, perseverance, and the human spirit are celebrated.

CMA Chairperson, Mqondisi Ngcobo says, “The Comrades Marathon Museum is a testament to the incredible history and legacy of this iconic race. We invite everyone to visit and be inspired by the remarkable achievements of those who have taken on the ultimate human challenge.”
