COMRADES ROADSHOW GOES TO CAPE TOWN NEXT WEEK

After pulling in crowds to both the Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg roadshows over the past two weeks, the Comrades Roadshow’s next stop will be at the VOB Running Club at Constantia Sports Centre, c/o Constantia Bowling Club, Constantia Main Road, Constantia in Cape Town on Wednesday, 21 February 2024 at 19h00.
With Comrades training season upon us, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has implemented a series of informative runner seminars in four strategic locations across the country in a bid to motivate and empower its 22,500 entrants to be adequately prepared for Comrades race day on Sunday, 9 June 2024.
The Comrades Roadshows will be hosted by local running clubs over the coming weeks, with an upcoming roadshow in Constantia, followed by the final one in Pretoria. Comrades Coach, Lindsey Parry has urged runners to attend the session and be part of that select group who will receive first-hand advice on training, nutrition, injury prevention and tapering among other relevant topics.
The Comrades roadshows will also include short motivational talks by local running legends as part of the Comrades’ Local Legends campaign for 2024. The line-up includes:
- Cape Town: Wietsche van der Westhuizen – 44 Comrades Marathon finishes
- Pretoria: Charne Bosman – 2016 Comrades Marathon winner

The 97th Comrades Marathon will start at the Durban City Hall at 5h30 and finish 12 hours later at the HollywoodBets Scottsville Racecourse in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, 9 June 2024. This will be the 49th Up Run.
