JOIN THE COMRADES MARATHON RACE4CHARITY CAMPAIGN
The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is proud to announce the opening of registrations for the #Comrades2025 Race4Charity campaign. This charity fundraising programme offers runners the unique opportunity to make their Comrades Marathon journey even more meaningful by raising funds for worthy causes and improve their seeding should they succeed in raising a minimum of R6000 for their chosen Comrades Charity.
Since its inception in 1996, the Comrades Amabeadibeadi Charity Drive has raised more than R76-million for the CMA’s official charities. The official charities for 2025 are Childhood Cancer Foundation SA, Childline KwaZulu-Natal, Community Chest of Pietermaritzburg & Durban, Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust, Rise Against Hunger and SANParks Honorary Rangers.
How it works:
When entering participants will have the option of joining Race 4 Charity before completing an entry. Once you have selected yes to create a Race4Charity page, participants will then get to choose which one of the six Amabeadibeadi charities they would like to support. Once a Race4Charity page has been created, your name will appear on the Race4Charity fundraiser page which can be viewed via this link
If you have already entered and would like to sign up for Race4Charity, you will be able to do so by logging into your 2025 Entry Profile by clicking the Login button on the Comrades Marathon website. Let the fundraising begin!
Benefits of running for charity:
By joining the Race4Charity campaign and raising a minimum of R6000, runners not only contribute to their chosen charitable cause but also gain access to special benefits, including:
- Priority seeding at the start of the race by being seeded in the ‘C-Batch’;
- Exclusive Race4Charity merchandise;
- Recognition on the Comrades Marathon website and the charity’s social media platforms.
CMA Charities & CSI Convenor, Pat Freeman says, “We are excited to launch the 2025 Race4Charity campaign. This programme embodies the spirit of the Comrades Marathon by combining the challenge of the race with the opportunity to give back to the community. We encourage all runners to sign up and make a difference.”
CMA Chairperson, Jeff Minnaar has also called on all runners to join hands with the CMA in raising funds for charity, saying, “The Comrades Marathon is more than a race; it is a way of life, an inspiration and a force for good. I personally urge all aspirant 2025 entrants to select the Official Comrades Charity whose mission resonates with your own calling and for you to run your 2025 Comrades race as a fundraiser for that special cause.”
