1000 ADDITIONAL COMRADES MARATHON ENTRIES SNAPPED UP IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is thrilled to announce that the 1,000 additional entries which were made available for the 2025 Comrades Marathon have been snapped up within just two hours of reopening. This overwhelming response underscores the immense popularity and global appeal of this iconic ultramarathon.
The Comrades Marathon, renowned as the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon, continues to capture the hearts and minds of runners from around the globe. With participants from over 80 countries, the race is a true testament to the spirit of endurance and camaraderie.
"We are incredibly excited by the enthusiastic response to the additional entries," says CMA Chairperson, Mqondisi Ngcobo. "The Comrades Marathon is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of human spirit and determination. We look forward to welcoming all our runners to the two Cities of Pietermaritzburg and Durban."
Athletes who were unable to secure an entry are encouraged to stay connected through our official Comrades Marathon channels for details of the Comrades Substitution Process which will run over March and April 2025.
The 98th Comrades Marathon will be run on Sunday, 8 June 2025. This will be the 49th Down Run, starting at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and finishing 12 hours later at Durban’s People’s Park.
