Take on the challenge at the Rwenzori Marathon on August 23, 2025, in Kasese, Uganda! This year, runners from over 33 countries will converge to tackle routes certified by World Athletics, ensuring a top-notch racing experience for all levels of runners.
The challenging course is set among the scenic Rwenzori Mountains which include Africa's third highest mountain, the snow-capped Margherita Peak. Featuring full and half marathon courses, along with a 5k and 10k option, participants will traverse the Rwenzori ranges, enjoying panoramic views of stunning National Parks and the snow-capped peaks whilst crossing the equator taking in the northern and southern hemisphere in one race.
At the heart of the marathon is a commitment to making a positive impact on the Rwenzori region. Organised by a group of Ugandan entrepreneurs who are keen runners themselves, the marathon aims to promote healthy living, boost tourism, and support local businesses and the community.
